GOVERNMENT PROVIDES MORE CLEAN WATER TO THE POPULATION OF MACHAZE

Over fifty thousand residents of Machaze district in Manica will benefit from clean water by the end of this semester, with the ongoing construction of five multi-purpose water supply systems. The population of the villages of Matucua, Mavende, Guacuanhe, Bassane, and Mussolobongo will have access to these water supply systems.

The Governor of Manica, FRANCISCA TOMÁS, stated in the locality of Mavende in Machaze that the efforts to provide clean water respond to the concerns of those communities that have periodically faced water shortages.

The leader explained that due to Machaze being located in a semi-arid region, it has been difficult to find the water table when drilling wells, which is why they are expanding water sources.

The multi-purpose water supply systems have a pumping capacity of 4,000 liters per hour and elevated storage tanks with a capacity of 30,000 liters, which can be used for watering livestock, vegetable production, and other purposes.

The government assures that upon completion of the construction of these multi-purpose systems, the water supply rate in Machaze district, currently at 45 percent for the existing population of over two hundred thousand residents, will increase.

The population is pleased with the efforts of the government, as it will provide clean water and consequently reduce the impact of waterborne diseases that have affected the region.
